The CatchNet® Truck Arrestor System (TAS) places deceleration loads of under 1 G on drivers and cargo. This greatly reduces damage to the truck, it eliminates injuries to drivers and eliminates cargo shift.
The CatchNet® / TAS is easy to maintain, set up and repair. It greatly reduces repair charges to the impacting vehicle, while also being quick to repair post impact. No grade change is required as part of the initial installation.
Our deceleration designs help the truck slow down safely with a minimal footprint. The current designs in place range from a 7% downslope at 62.5 MPH / 42,000 lbs. up to a 10% downslope at 90 MPH / 90,000 lbsdeceleration. Runout room is reduced to between 330 feet to 660 feet. Our design offers flexible footprints based on speed and weight. It is easy to construct in tight spaces. Physical fast track trap drawings and design work also available.
Successful applications in Wyoming (2), Nevada, Connecticut, Quebec, British Columbia, Ontario, CA, Massachusetts and Hawaii (3). The system is suggested as a truck deceleration system tool in the AASHTO Design Guide.
